How Heirs In a Louisiana Succession Get a Free Estate Lawyer
I spoke with a gentleman yesterday. He was really excited about the fact that it wasn't going to cost him a penny out of his own pocket to get all of this estate legal work done. His mother passed away weeks ago. He lived in Texas and she lived here in Louisiana and so he needs to get the Louisiana succession done to get all of the assets out of her name. She owned a home and a checking and savings account. We walked him through all the different steps that he'll have to go through from getting appointed as the administrator of the succession to filing all the lists of assets with the courts, to getting all of the necessary judgments, transferring everything out of her name. He was very concerned about how he was going to pay for that. He didn't have a lot of money so he was really relieved when we told him that you don't have to pay a penny out of your pocket. What we'll do is you can pay all of the estate costs out of the estate account and once we get to a point as the administrator you can move your mom's frozen bank accounts into the new estate accounts which he would have access to and then he can pay all of those costs out of there. So he was excited and we started right away. Just know that as long as an estate has accounts or assets, as long as you structure it the right way they heirs don't have to be out of pocket for a penny. The estate typically pays all those costs. So be aware of that. It's an easy way to get an estate handled. Heirs don't have to come out of pocket. If you have questions about an estate and getting all that done, call our office 866-491-3884. Have a good day!
